Zooplankton are tiny drifters with great ecological importance due to their ability to graze on microorganisms such as phytoplankton and acting as feed for many aquatic creatures including fish (Brooks 1968).  This investigation explores some major natural factors and anthropogenic impacts which modulate interactions affecting the equilibrium of zooplankton communities. Improving understanding of the factors that influence zooplankton populations and their ability to maintain equilibrium can help inform water management, conservation, and restoration efforts (Johnston et al. 2022).

Daphnia are an ideal natural source of food for fish. stable population of adult daphnia can be maintained alongside fry. Their wide range of temperature and salinity tolerances make daphnia magana a very forgiving organisms to work with.

While there might be cultural stigmas against algae and the green huge it gives earths waters, algae are an essential component to earth’s food web and sustaining life both in and out of water. While there are over 50,000 species of algae that have been documented on earth, only a tiny fraction of them have been thoroughly studied by modern science and are reproduced for laboratory or industrial use. Nearly anywhere there is water there is algae.
